History
The Doberman is the only dog, who got his name of the his first known breeder- Friedrich Louis Dobermann (01.01.1834-09.06.1894), who lived at Apolda in the south-eastern part of Germany. F. L. Dobermann took different dogs from the neighbourhood of Apolda and started breeding and so he got a dog for the daily use, who later become a part of the police force and that’s why they got the nickname “Gendarmenhund”. In august 1899 the first Doberman-club was founded, which was also based at Apolda.

A Doberman is muscular and well built and against all the prejudices a real family-dog and very fond of children. Because of the strong and firm character of a Doberman his owner will have a lot of pleasure. There will grow a strong and trusty relation between the dog and his leader. And last but not least a Doberman is well known for his temperament and his elegant attitude.

The Dobermann
The Dobermann is of medium size, strong and muscularly built. Through the elegant lines of its body, its proud stature, and its expression of determination, it conforms to the ideal picture of a dog. He has a black of brown coat with rust red, sharply defined markings, appearing about each eye and on muzzle, throat and forechest, on all legs and feet and below the tail.
